Yeah, I know what you mean, and must be because of the different gameplay and "gimmicks" that I prefer those instead of Halo, although Halo seems to be a more refined Quake than anything, as far my experience goes. I dunno...I just felt disappointed when I played Halo.

Sounds like
Seinfeld is unfunny. What it did has become the fundamental necessities of most FPSs that came after, which then put in additional gimmicks.
