Sorry to tell you bad news, but I heard from trustable sources that the person who is currently detaining the copyright is not interested at the moment or is interested in future to continue/revive the series. It disappoints me knowing a lot of people that miss the series on PS1 and wanted to see a HD remake or a sequel.
