Just to clarify to anyone who actually thinks the LGBT part of events like GaymerCon is to satisfy an 'interest', it's not to do with that. It's about feeling safe. Safe from harrassment (a major problem in conventions, especially gaming conventions) and safe to express oneself properly, without feeling surrounded by outlandish displays of perceived ultra-masculinity.
Aren't all events like this (Quake Con, Furry...Con, Comic Con) if you boil them down to their core? To feel safe and not be judged/bullied?
