It's worth playing the first three to set up for the Future Trilogy, which is some of the best lighthearted, shooty fun you can have. Play them chronologically and you'll get the most out of them. The first isn't without gaping flaws, but lots of those were ironed out by the sequel and then they ran with that formula from then.
