Again people don't remember how much the PlayStation 2 cost when it came out ... it was over $700 in Australia. The PlayStation 2 has been out for 1 1/2 years now, so of course the price has dropped by a lot for it ... it always happens with consoles. If you're willing to wait about a year for the Xbox price to drop, then it will do so too.
Paramiteabe ... Australian dollars are approximately double a US dollar, so yes, the console itself is slightly higher than the US price, but the games are around the same. Although my Xbox was originally bought over by someone on their flight to Australia, the cost to get it shipped back to me after it was repaired was around $300 Aus, so generally it would be a lot more expensive to buy a US Xbox like I did, plus you need a step down power transformer for $200 Aus. Costs aside though, it was worth it to have Munch three months early!
