Most fighting games can be like that, agreed. But with Street Fighter I find Capcom always finds a way to make their games different. They tweak them so subtly that you still feel like you're playing Street Fighter but it still feels fresh and original.
And I have Street Fighter Alpha 3 on my PS3, I really like it but the fact that I have to use the d-pad annoys me. It also leaves my thumb feeling like it just went through a blender. And yeah, they are all pretty much the same game, only with more characters in each version. I think the only core difference is that there's an extended storyline that arcs throughout the three games, but really, who cares about story in fighting games?
