I always thought of it as a pussy version of rugby. Being strapped in massive armour and protective gear and acting tough just makes you come across as a major douche. In rugby, I've seen guys with half their faces bleeding only to get stitched up and get back on. That's being tough.

football, I'm a Chelsea supporter myself. Totally psyched when they won the FA Cup against Liverpool. Fingers crossed for the Champions League final.
