I wasn't serious when I was referring to myself as a hipster. I was just pointing out that I was aware of how pretentious I sound when I talk shit on something popular. I don't consider myself a hipster at all, even if I do inadvertently have some hipsterish tendencies.

i wasn't implying anyone here was a hipster, i just don't get it. i don't get why anyone would want to be something so blind and socially moronic.

Like most slang, it's meant different things over its lifetime.
Nowadays, a hipster is somebody who loves obscure media and hates popular things because they think it makes them seem independent, unique and interesting; Or somebody who pretends to do so in order to fit in with trend-following cliques.
