It just looks too "Twilighty" to me.

The books (which I read all of, in a day, last summer) as a series are crap. Specifically the second third, the latter is taken up by 2/3rds of the story focusing on the protagonist grumbling about being in the hospital, over and over and over again. But the first book is good, and the 'romance' isn't really there and when it is it's not heavy handed, just to add more 'depth' to it. All of the hype makes it look like a humungous Twilight clone, but it's honestly just a fun, uplifting movie about children murdering the fuck out of one another. You should just get fucked up on acid or something and watch it. That's what I'm going to do.
