I know it works on Windows 98 Second Edition. There's an unofficial program for it which allows you to run programs built for 2000/XP. It's called KernelEx and it is here. If it doesn't work first time, try changing the compatibility settings tab that added. Also, KernelEx works for ME but not 95. 2000 I think can run it anyway.

I'd recommend downloading the unofficial service pack for 98SE as well, this one doesn't work on ME though, here it is.


Stop it now it's not funny.
Since Minecraft is made in Java, I tought it would run on anything as long as it has the JRE/JVM and meets the system requirements.

I thought I could just get an old version of the JRE/JVM and install it on an old Windows machine and Minecraft will run nicely.
