I’ll come out and say I enjoyed Generations far more than I did Adventure. I never played Adventure until I bought it on Steam last year, and I think without a nostalgia filter the game is awful. The controls are too sensitive, the camera is screwy, the dialogue and story are atrocious (but who cares about those), and the levels are poorly paced.
Generations is a much slicker game, and much more streamlined.
Also, Generations sold 1.6 million copies, Origins sold only 50,000 in its first month. Kind of sad, but then a) 1.6mil isn’t huge for a series as big as Sonic, and b) “Ubisoft revealed that the game has been profitable and that they feel it ‘has the capacity to become a long-term seller for the company.’”
