You know what else is wrong with Colors? Sonic. His personality in this game is not congruent with his character. He's too nice, he talks too much, and he never gets serious. I like Sonic better when he's portrayed as someone who's a bit: reserved, rude, and plays by his own rules. Also Sonic should get serious when things get dramatic, you could have gallows humor but every scene between Sonic and Eggman were like slapstick skits. I guess it's just the attitude of the whole game, I mean just look at the opening in Colors, it's super bright and set to uplifting music; the opening in SA was epic and set to a cool rock anthem. Sonic could be cool while still be appropriate for all ages. IDK I guess they wanna appeal to everyone but I bet most kids would rather have something epic and funny. It just annoys me to see Sonic identity violated like this. i'm not saying make it darker I'm saying make it cooler.
  • Sonic has never really been portrayed as a serious character; even in the “darker” (pfft) games in the series he’s always been a smart-mouthed easygoing dude.
  • The Sonic series should never be serious. This is the direction Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 2006 took, and it was pretty much a horrible embarrassing dip in quality.
  • Sonic is a blue hedgehog and he fights a mad scientist shaped like an egg. This does not lend itself well to an edgy, gallows-humor tone.

What I’m saying is the series really works as a light-hearted, cheesy, non-serious thing, and you are terrible and wrong.
