Nevertheless, you must surely agree that Meijers provided a staple basis that launched the franchise, and with his voice being part of the mechanic that pioneered Oddworld onto a market which, at the time, was losing interest in platformers fast, surely one should recognise that he has to play some sort of role in voice acting this remake if it is possible to hire him? If not for the sake of superior game play, then for remembrance of the past?
Josh Gabriel voiced all of six sound bytes in the entire game. I really don't think you can give him credit for the success of AO.

As for nostalgia, that's not really a good enough reason to drag a successful DJ out of his day career and back in to a sound recording booth. And you'd probably have to pay 'Successful DJ' wages, rather than simply get the voices for free from Lorne.
