Well as i know these impractical things and uneconomical ways of travel might work in future,humans will conquer planets like Titan witch are filled with natural gasses and stuff,witch will make this more cheaper.Well flying cars are practical becouse you dont need asphalt to drive on.Jetpacks would be to go on short trips.We all think of it as impossible becouse if we look at todays jetpacks,they look like fridges,but in the future they will be smaller,just as computers did.The first computer was like two huge fridges,and look at em now,you can put em in pockets.

We may well go to Titan and retreive a cheap supply of natural gas... but it's still going to be cheaper and more convenient to put street lights on poles. No amount of gas is going to change that.
As for flying cars; think about the number of accidents we have right now on the roads. Now imagine that there's a third dimension involved. I don't see that in any way ending well.
