I imagine that the pace at which technology is being created from scratch will slow down now until such a time that our need for it changes. For example the biggest war on Earth at the time (WW1) required the advent of tanks, the want for a way for us to communicate with each other across the globe brought us IM and MMS. What do we need right now? I can't think of much.

However perhaps there will be leaps made in architecture and city development, with a population tipping 7 billion now, I imagine the technology used to create, taller, more compact living spaces will be in high demand and sky lines of major cities will be dominated by multi-tiered skyscrapers.
