I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the second time the other night at an annual screening. The "theatre" was an enclosed space in a park which held about 300 people. I went with a group of friends and we sat right at the front. Right fucking there.

I can't stress enough how much I love the movie. It's no brilliant work of art, but it's really fun. The soundtrack is the deal-sealer for me and is easily enough to stop me tiring of the film. Since seeing the movie on Tuesday I've listened to the soundtrack 3 times.

I could rave about the movie for hours, but I'm sure you've all heard of it at least.

The best part about seeing the movie in a open theatre is the audience. Every time Brad and Janet are introduced the audience yell "Asshole!" and "Slut!" respectively. When Dr. Franken Furter is chasing Rocky two members of the audience ran around recreating the scene. Everyone runs upto the front to dance the Time Warp. People throw pieces of toast at "A toast!" Whenever the Criminologist comes on screen people yell "Where's your neck?!" In the final song, Superheroes, some people called out questions between song lines, so that this happened:

Audience: "What did you have for tea last night?"
Criminologist: "Some insects…"
Audience: "Where's your neck?"
Criminologist: "Lost in time"
Audience: "What's your favourite TV show?"
Criminologist: "Lost in space"

It was a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. My friends and I are definitely making an annual event of seeing it there.
