I bought it as soon as possible yesterday and downloaded immediately, and I did feel it took quite a while to download. I think it was about 2 hours for me, but in all honesty this is probably due to my internet speed!
Playing the game, I have to say it's great! The graphics are far better in motion that in still screenshots. I didn't have the chance to play the original Stranger, so can't really comment on what the improvements over that are like, but I definitely feel JAW have done a great job!
It's awesome to finally play it- this is my first *new* Oddworld game since '98
