nah... I think people talked about it before too.

Also, Yogscast is replaceable. Honestly, EVERYTHING in this world becomes popular from mouth-to-mouth and ads. But ads only get you so far. You need people you trust to tell you that a product is good. Yogscast did this. But so did OMFGcata and many others. I mean.. I bought Minecraft cos of OMFGcata. The only difference is that Yogscast got to be the most popular of those channels in regards to Minecraft vids. Apparently they were the ones providing the best or at least the most focused content. I also think their timing was right. They hit Minecraft when a lot of people knew of it, but also a lot of people to come. Who hadn't but would. And the fact that they focused on Minecraft so much, and they were actually funny, people loved them.

But the thing is... Had it not been them, it would be someone else. Or maybe they created some chain reaction, but by now, they ARE replaceable. All games need people like them to review the games and show them off. When you see a person having fun with a given item, you start wanting it as well. So youtubers are GREAT advertisement.

But that's just youtubers in general.


But it's undeniable that Notch created a great game, that's really fun. And fun things spread around naturally. It's inevitable that Minecraft would at least have a decent fanbase. It's not youtube that made the games fun for me at least. They just helped me with the initial desire to get it.


And I dunno if this should be split. It IS general minecraft discussion after all ... x_x But if you guys really want to...
