Refering to yourself or other western fans as otakus is almost as weaboo as using Japanese honorifics with your friends or refering to Princess Mononoke and Neon Genesis Evangelion as Mononoke-Hime and Shin Seiki Evangerion.
As to what you said: There's nothing sexy or fetishizing about people who imitate other cultures to try and look cool. How are you even supposed to imitate anything except black gang culture?
