Being able to play online in Stranger's Wrath would be capital. Design your own custom outlaw or bounty hunter and duke it out.
I still think however that the Abe games should stick with a singular campaign. Additional time trials and co-op missions wouldn't improve the game. They may even detract from the overall "interactive story" feel. When you think about it, there's already time trials, such as the Board Room. I suppose you could give an achievement for completing it within a certain time frame.
Like Liji said, it's a story told as a video game, an interactive movie. No HUDS, no collecting, no game-overs. Don't let it get too gimmicky!
