Assuming you don't actually have such a ridiculously powerful processor and mean MHz, your old computer had one twice as powerful. You didn't mention how much RAM they have, either, and the amount of free disk space would also affect how well something runs.
Also, it's not just the power of the components that determines whether you can run something. Some software is just incompatible with some hardware.
