Ridg3 and I hold similar opinions. For both of us to be fans of Final Fantasy before the 21st century, let me tell you why FF13 is an insult.

Battle system? Final Fantasy's battle system was perfect until Enix. 12 ruined it, and 13 raped and spat on it. Turn-based may be old-school, but an old-school recipe can be revamped. Play Lost Odyssey; Hironobu and Nobou, FF's big players made that game the real Final Fantasy XIII.

Story... admittedly, yes... quite interesting until late Disc 2... then, it got boring. It was recycling nostalgic memories from earlier titles. It put me off, until I returned to it just to get achievements and to probably give it a chance to kick up at the end... nope...

Characters.. Agh...

Lightning is Cloud.
Snow is Zidane.
Fang is Auron.

Sazh is a pathetic replacement for Barret; he's black and shoots bullets. Am I being racist? Why not give him a spear, then?

Hope is the emotional distraught faggot. Play earlier games, you'll find one...

Vanille is the airhead... you don't need to look far...

70% of people who liked FF13 have never played the previous titles. The remainder are those who think the franchise have a chance (through yaoi fanfiction)

In a nutshell...13 is shit.

Play Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon; Hironobu and Nobou made (if somewhat underrated) epics of them.
