*unrelated to the convo... Sorta*

This morning I discovered that Fable III was on special offer on Steam for £10. So I thought "Sure, why not"... And ended up using up half my bandwidth cap for this month. :S Then I also found out that like Bioshock 2, it's integrated with shitty Games for Windows Live and several levels of shitty DRM. But what can you do.

As for the game itself, so far I've played 2 hours of it, and it seems to be alright with an interesting story and good graphics and atmosphere - Perhaps the combat is a little mundane, the game holds your hand too much, the menus are too simple, and the voice acting is sometimes a bit off. It doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good as Fable I either, unfortunately (where's my inventory screen? Where's my health bar? How can I use items when I'm either not in combat or buying them? Why must I hold down the use key for 3 seconds whenever I want to open a door?). But other than that it seems to be fun, although I'm not sure if it was worth me using up much of my bandwidth for it.

Still it's now on sale on Steam this weekend if others want to try it too. I'd say it's worth £10.
