That's not really dying though; that's suffering due to illness. Which is what Steve Jobs had been doing for years without any massive outpouring of sympathy.
I look at dying as being seperate to the illness that caused it. When my grandmother died of cancer, it was more of a relief than anything else that her suffering was now over.

There’s still that element of knowing “this is killing me, I’m dying from this”. It’s one thing suffering from pain, it’s a whole other thing suffering from a fatal pain.
