Nah, she was just trying to look on the brightside. Hence the "if".
And they generally throw in sounds like that to emphasize the hot and tasty nature of the pork bun, because it's not like you can show how hot it is the the audience through touch, and it's a bit more elegant then having the characters comment on it every five seconds.
