Yes, you do. You (and I, for that matter) just don't think about it because your mindset matches what society says it should be. If it didn't, I can assure you that you would be thinking about it quite a bit more.

The mindset was, most likely, also originally created in accordance to what society says it should be. If there were an isolated society, where little boys were bought up in dresses and given Barbie (or rather Ken) dolls to play with, I doubt they would really have any qualms.
