I'd better admit this, really. I wasn't being entirely truthful yesterday. Nothing I said was actually a lie, but I was sort of selective with the truth.

The truth is that Scientific Tests have revealed all kinds of things, but nothing has been shown often enough to be taken as proof. One Laboratory Test says that it causes cancer. Another says it prevents it. Another says it aggravates one sort of cancer while curing another. Another says it has no effect. The list is endless...

What is found depends largely on how the tests are conducted. Are they conducted on animals? If so, what animals, and how is the drug administered? If not, how is it done? What purity of cannabis are we talking about here? What kind? Resin/Leaf/Bud/Oil? [These are rhetorical, I'm just demonstrating the huge range of variations the tests can have...]

Basically, Scientists will find what they want to find. Virtually nothing has been proven conclusively, either for cannabis or against cannabis. A few years ago, the government was very anti-drug, so the government-funded scientists started "discovering" Cannabis's deadly effects. Now, the government is leaning towards legalisation, so the scientists are now saying it's a wonder-drug. With all these conflicting views, it's hard to know where to turn...

My information, therefore, was gained not from scientists, but from the Drug Education people that came into College one time. Instead of relying on Laboratory tests, they'd conducted surveys investigating short-term and long-term users of both Cannabis and Tobacco. They found very little, but found that the rate of cancer in Tobacco smokers was a lot higher than average, but slightly below average in Cannabis Smokers. The difference between Cannabis smokers and non-smokers was so slight that it could be dismissed as a fluke, but they were fairly certain that at least Cannabis didn't cause Cancer... As for the Sperm Count thing, they didn't find anything about that...
