just started reading the bible today, I read the first 15 chapters of genises and found it very confusing, especially the part were noah makes burn't offerings right after getting out of the ark, I wonder which species died as a result of that since there was only two of every animal, or was it seven I'm not quite sure

There were only two of each unclean (i.e. non-kosher) animal. There were seven of the clean/kosher animals, specifically so that Noah could sacrifice some of them. And eat them, too. Tradition has it that humanity was vegetarian before the flood, but only started eating meat from Noah onwards.
