The point being?

It's still a personal freedom that no one should tamper with. As long as its stays a personal freedom, I dont care if they want to live in a box on the streets in order to keep their addiction.

of course if they ask for help it should be given.

And if their personal freedom harms others then its no longer a personal freedom meaning it doesnt count anymore. Yeap.
The point being that drug addiction isn't a personal freedom, it's an addiction.

If I saw a friend of mine suffering from drug addiction I wouldn't sit idly by and doing nothing, then later tell him 'Oh sorry I wasn't aware you were suffering. I was respecting your autonomy.'

That's just an excuse to do nothing. Addiction is never a freedom.
