[OOC: Ahh, at last, I can do something...]
The Mayor quickly put his papers in a drawer as he heard a knock at his door. Before he could say anything, Seltin burst through the door, breathless. "Sir... Spider... In Pyke... Malice too..."
The Mayor stood up straight. "Where?"
"On... on the rooftops somewhere... moving fast, though..."
The Mayor strode round the desk and led the way out into the lobby. "Tell Trey to mobilise the guards."
"Already is, sir."
"Excellent..."
Seltin paused to catch his breath. "Shall I mobilise the old Mudokon Guards as well, sir?"
The Mayor paused for the shortest moment. "No, I'm sure Trey's sligs can sort this out..."
Seltin stopped, but the Mayor carried on. "But... My guards have always been able to deal with problems..."
"Trey will take it from here, Seltin..." the Mayor called over his shoulder as he walked off...

"Trey'll take it from here"... the cheek... I've never had to rely on anyone else before now... Seltin strode down the alleys towards the Guard House (formerly the Armoury). Well, we'll soon see if Trey is as good as the Mayor thinks he is...

The Guard House was in pandemonium. Sligs were rushing everywhere, trying to get weapons and get to their posts. Seltin was hardly noticed as he strolled down the thick stone steps to the Guard House Jail.
He almost sniggered to see that there were no longer any guards on guard down here; they were all out, trying to keep track of Spider and Malice. He reached for the keys, taking them off their hook, and flicked the lightswitch.
As the light flickered on, he turned and sagged with disappointment. There were only three prisoners in the cells; Arim, the former Restauranteur, a young mudokon with a glazed expression in his eyes, and a small female slig.
Ah well, better than nothing... He began to unlock the cells. Arim and the slig stared at him suspiciously, as he swung the doors quietly open. He gestured impatiently for them to leave the cells. "Come on!", he whispered.
The prisoners slowly filed out, not taking their eyes off Seltin. They paused in the doorway.
"Look, just get out of here, and you never saw me, okay?"
"Okay," Arim replied, and walked out through the Guard House lobby, out into the street. As Seltin had thought, nobody noticed the prisoners leaving any more than they had noticed Seltin arriving. He grinned.
Now I wait...
[OOC: If someone else had a better way of letting Aura out, I can delete this, it just seemed like a good idea at the time, expecially since I've always imagined Seltin seeing a rival in Trey...]
