I absolutely loved the daytime levels in Sonic Unleashed. I never want to see the nighttime ones again in my life.

Yeah, agreed. Seems a lot of people share the view. The nighttime levels get so tedious, a couple of times I've just turned off the Xbox because I got frustrated and bored of cheap deaths and stupid enemies.
