Quote for fucking truth. Futurama is one of my favourite shows, it perfectly blends emotion and humour into one great show. As much as I love the older episodes of the Simpsons in its prime, Futurama is way more consistent. Then again it only has about a quarter of the amount of episodes the Simpsons does, so they've yet to really run out of ideas.
I think Futurama has to be one of the most sincere and heartfelt animated sitcoms I've ever seen. I'm one of the many who cried like a bitch after the episode about Fry's dog Seymour, but there have been a few other really nice sentimental episodes. I think the show has found a nice balance of the 'herp derp' lol moments, as well as the snide/sarcastic smirk worthy tone it seems to carry, but still manages to bust you in the nuts and tug on your heart strings at least twice a season.
