Also tried Champions Online. And it's awesome. Well, it follows the average MMO concept, but character creation is amazing. And the ingame world has that cool comic book style to it which I really like. I've been throwing trashcans at insectoid aliens for at least an hour just now.

City of Heroes is apparently much better. Champions Online's ratings actually went
down when it went F2P. It's
worse free than it was before.
But your experience is not uncommon. After about 10 hours you'll realise that you've done everything unique and get bored. It doesn't last.
