I love exotic pets. I want a ball python to call my own one day.
My family would always keep at least two pets. I think we once had six under one roof.
Here's all of them in order:
Paco - Shepherd/Collie Mix. Very well-behaved, smart, and friendly. Died of cancer.
Taxi - All white cat. Poisoned by our evil foreign neighbors who apparently think cats are the devil.
Gizmo - Siamese cat. Son of my grandmothers hell-spawn cat Sabrina. Lived for about 10 years before dying of feline diabetes.
Mao Mao - Black cat. Stray cat we took in as a kitten. The world's greatest cat hands down. Lovable, friendly, and very healthy. He went missing after we left him with a new owner before moving. Mom and I were devastated when we couldn't find him, but we take solace in the thought he's found a new family. He's about 12 now.
Buddy - Rescued Greyhound. Dumb and hyper. Was given away when we moved.
Baby Slick - Rescued Greyhound. Sweet and lovable. Lived a full life before we had her euthanized at 13 due to inoperable organ failure.
Fido - Dad's tortoise shell cat. Old, fat, and her meow sounds more like a frog croak. She has her moments of awesome, but generally embodies the infamous cat apathy.
Furball Jr. - Long-haired black cat. Son of Fido. Ran away when we moved to the city.
Froggy - A toad I found in a junkyard. He was missing a foot. I kept him in a terrarium for 10+ years, feeding him any bugs I could find. He died of old age, happy and well-fed.
Pico - Unknown mutt. Friendly, happy, but a bit of a schizo. We gave him away when we moved to a nice old man who takes good care of him. We visit him sometimes.
Joey - Ginger, long-haired cat. Whiny and skittish. We gave him to my cousin when we moved. As far as I know, he still lives with her.
Smudge - Mom's current dog, a "Chug" (chihuahua/pug mix). Mean to strangers, barks alot, hilariously rotund and out of shape.
Hermit Crabs - Over the years I've kept several nameless hermit crabs. A few of them have died. I currently have two, who seem to be in good health. Anyone who's kept hermit crabs knows that health is a crapshoot. One day they're fine, the next they're dead. These guys have held out for about 8 years so far.
Honeybee - Grey, striped cat with an orange diamond pattern on her forehead. Very sweet, but very needy and clingy. She lived with a doting old lady before we adopted her, so she was used to constant attention. We gave her to a family friend before moving.
