It's very possible to keep large cats as pets if you so desired, and apparently most species of large cat would have exactly the same temperament as normal domestic cats. And many people do keep them (Warning: slightly disturbing). One of the main differences though is that when a domestic cat decides to take a swing at you (and anyone who's owned a cat knows how often they love to do that), it probably isn't likely to be fatal. Also, did you know that Cheetahs can purr?
Just because it's possible, doesn't mean you should, unless you have acres of land the correct temperature and geography, parters for sociality and an ample supply of live meat for hunting. Plus all the equipment needed should the tigers get ill or escape.
