Air Cadets eh? I am the Air Force and there are female officers (highest I have personally seen is Major, but I am sure there are women of higher rank then that). On the enlisted side I have seen female Chief Master sergeants (the highest rank you can go other then Chief Master Sergeant of the AF). So perhaps your 'Air Cadets' is a bit sexist. I know the Air Force isn't. I can't speak for the other services though.
As for the being captured bit...maybe women just make doublely sure they don't get caught. *grin* I know I would.

Are you Australian, because some of those ranks you just mentioned i have never heard of before, But your with the airforce huh? i guess that's pretty cool, so are you like learning to be a pilot? What is your rank anyway? Cause if your higher than me i'm gonna have to start calling you maim, Arhhh! Well i repect any member of the airforce be it male or female, how ironic this situation has become.
