Of course a controller is designed specifically for gaming, ergo it is superior to the mouse and keyboard, and since my mouse broke I've had to suffice with my laptop touch pad which is very bad for gaming however, I have honed a degree of precision with it nevertheless.
I think for FPS, surprisingly, the wii remote and the nun chuck are ideal whether you want to use the wii zapper or not, you can't beat the accuracy.
