So what? It's still a month. Autumn probably just means 'dead leaves' or something.
And I wouldn't really worry about Latin names. Most of them were designed to be unisex. 'Julius' becomes 'Julia', 'Augustus' becomes 'Augusta', 'Flavius' becomes 'Flavia' etc.
