That doesn't explain why you're going trough a pretty long elevator shaft when GlaDOS sends you to the surface.

I think that's because GLaDOS wakes you up in her chamber with Atlas and P-Body. It's not in Wheatley's control anymore, so GLaDOS probably moved back down there. Would be my guess. |
