Apologies skychase2rebirth I downloaded and copied the file again and it did have the modifications, I suppose I didn't copy it correctly the first time. Nice edit!
JennyGenesis, not being able to rescue that Mudokon is fine by me (the first time I commented about him was because it seemed odd to place a Mudokon which couldn't be rescued). The issue I was trying to highlight was that when trying to save that Mudokon Abe was frozen in place which meant that I couldn't progress further or even kill Abe to restart, and there was no way to tell beforehand that trying to rescue him would essentially freeze the game.

The game just froze as soon as you opened the portal or the guy the jumping through it?
I don't think either of those are fixable in the level. It's probably just a game bug.
