Not really. The game isn't available in the XBLA - you still need the disk. It's just that it will now work where previously it didn't.

I don't know but I'm thinking maybe there is a slight a chance a patch may be released for Stranger.

Don't get your hopes up. It would be a small thing to patch a game that already works but with a minor bug. Allowing emulation for a completely different game would take much more effort.

How come Munch can be played but Stranger can't ?

Because Microsoft included Munch in their Xbox emulation program, but not Stranger.
