I would hope that Nintendo isn't stupid enough to abandon the crowd who made Wii king of this generation in favor of a jaded crowd who consider Nintendo to be kiddy.

The crowd is going to follow them anyway. Fanboys are like that.
All jokes aside, the people who bought the Wii over the other consoles will also buy the Wii2 (or whatever it's going to be called) even if it is an HD, super-powered behemoth, as long as Nintendo pushes out Nintendo games.
