If at all possible I as a fan, and also from a business perspective, would like to see the franchise relaunched, actually. Combine Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus into one game as a sort of backstory for the new games you can release after that.

Actually, I agree with this - People are more tempted to buy games when they're from a franchise that they're familiar with (well at least I am - I wouldn't have given Munch or Stranger a second glance if I wasn't familiar with AO and AE).
I think that a new game should be made, but since the old games are low resolution and don't look good on newer screens, they deserve a remake if done correctly, and I'd love to see them both get a new lease of life. Maybe remakes should be made first if it's easier to do, to help rekindle interest in the franchise before releasing a new game, hopefully meaning better sales and even more new games.
