For it to be in HD it would have to run at 720p, which means the backgrounds would have to be redone. It would also mean a large portion of the games code would have to be re-written.

I always wondered how they'd be able to do that?
To make the game HD they'd have to do alot more than stretch the game to make it 720 or whatever. They'd have take each screenshot of each level and add like 2-3 inches of room and such on the sides.
Wish one of the producers could show a demo of how remaking a game is done.
