Jhonen Vasquez...
Hello every one, I decided to start a topic about the brilliant Vasquez...
I'm sure only a few of you know of his comics, so I will explain. He is a comic book writer/artist who has written Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, Squee, Filler Bunny and I Feel Sick. JTHM is an extremely dark humoured book about... well, a serial killer named Johnny. (nny for short!) It really is hilarious and clever, and I reccomend it to any one who has a macabre sense of humour... one of my favorite issues is when Johnny dies, and philisophical ideas run throughout the rest of the book. (great for people who like satires of religion!) A warning though, JTHM is extremely violent and not for the faint of heart...
JTHM also has a spin off about a tormented little boy called Squee. This one is lighter, and still very good... Not much to explain, other than that Squee has a cannibalistic insane grandpa, creepy and surreal dreams, a friend named Pepito who is actually satan's child and many other strange things... Squee and JTHM are my favorites of his, but i also like Filler Bunny and I Feel Sick. (though i think you should go for Squee or Johnny first.)
Oh, of course! He also did the cartoon Invader Zim! Zim is pretty damn good, but it is nothing compared to his comics... i can't believe Nickelodian let him make a show... i mean, he did these gruesome comics... wow. Well, Vasquez is great! Does any one here like him or know any projects he is working on?
