We can get out when the Universe slows down in expansion which should happen as would any explosion or reactions blast radius...we could throw robots at the edge too.

actually I dont think the universe will slow down because of it being in space, an object in motion will stay in motion untill hit by an unbalenced force, on earth that force would be gravity, friction or an obstical in its path, as there would be nothing in the universes path, no gravity to speak of and as it is not rubbing against something there is no friction, so I think it will just keep going at the same speed, the only way I can think of to get as fast or faster than it would be to somehow recreate the big bang and find a way to survive, or if we could get close to the speed of light and figure out how to slow down the entire universe so that the time that passes outside would be the same time that passes inside than inter steller travel might be possable, although close to the speed of light might be enough, time is slowed down by gravity right? so when we leave our star the universe around us would be quicker, so both our destination and point of origin would be slower than us and thus cancling out the time dialation effect, it may not work as I have no Idea how much our suns gravity is slowing time. and yes I do watch too much docter who
