Interestingly, these aren't the only comparison you can make between R&C and Oddworld. Look at Vykers and Terrachnoids, for example...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It's something me and my friend noticed as well.
If I didn't know better I'd even go as far to say they were exactly the same creature, just modelled in different art styles.
