But saying that Super Meat Boy looks and plays like Meat Boy is like saying that Super Mario Bros. looks and plays like Mario Bros. Yes, there are turtles, and that guy running around is Mario, but it is absolutely a different game with different controls, and a different feel.

I'd say it's more like the comparrison between Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros 3. Similar goals and challenges, but SMB3 had better challenges, more stuff and was longer.
