However, it is incredibly hard to get hired even for low-paying jobs. At least it is so in Denmark. Even for shitty jobs such as cleaning lady, grill bar employee or trash collector, you need education of SOME sort. Well, true that usually it's short courses that take a few weeks, but the point is that jobs have become less accessible.

Although, grill-bar jobs seem to be the least favored ones, so those are ok easy to get into.
But yea, looking hard enough WILL yield a job at some point(if your pride isnt in the way), and in Denmark it's practically impossible to end up starving.

On the other hand, because of weird agreements with the job insurance companies, for someone like my dad, it would be hard to find a low-paying job. They call it being over-qualified, and they simply wont take you. Even though my dad is brilliant, smart and really experienced, it took him at least 2 years to finally get a job. Too many people are looking for jobs, and too few jobs are free
The whole over-qualified thing is really pissing me off. I was lead to believe an education would give me an advantage in life, not hold it back indefinitely and prevent it from even taking off. That's bullshit. I dread to think what would have happened if I'd finished my degree. Though truth be told its difficult to be less unemployed than being both unemployed and off the dole.
