How about starting a thread about movies. I would like to talk about and discuss interesting and classical films with you. Maybe everyone who wanna join should present a movie by describing the plot and why he/she liked it.

ok I start

The Man Who Laughs (Paul Leni, 1928)

a very morbid and dark silent picture, with a great main actor (Conrad Veidt). King James II orders to operate on a boy of a knight as a punishment. The boy should have a smile for his lifetime.

the images and Veidt leave a very strong mark. the film has some elements of a horrorfilm, but is mainly a romantic tragedy spiced with dark and morbid ideas.

as the matter of fact, Gwynplaine (the smiling man) was the main inspiration for The Joker in Batman.
